Anti Snoring TreatmentLiving with the side effects of persistent snoring and the associated lack of sleep (for both the snorer and the bed partner) can be frustrating, exhausting, and even dangerous. Headaches, daytime sleepiness, irritability, and a loss of productivity are the results of not getting enough sleep. In addition, the risk of other health issues increases from sleep deprivation, as does the risk of car accidents due to impaired reaction time.

Snoring can be harmful to your health

The sound of snoring results from air moving through the back of the mouth, nose, and throat. If this area is restricted, the snoring can be loud and annoying, and the restriction can result in obstructive sleep apnoea— pauses in breathing during sleep because of a physical block to airflow. Sleep apnoea has been medically linked to high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. Most chronic snorers have some kind of sleep apnoea.

A simple dental appliance can help you sleep better

Snoring can now be effectively treated using a customised dental appliance called an oral anti-snoring device. The device is a painless and effective method for preventing snoring.

The oral anti-snoring device looks similar to a custom-designed mouth guard and positions the jaw and tongue in such a way as to allow air to move freely through the throat. It eliminates the associated noise that comes when the tongue slips back into the throat and allows the sleeper to get enough air without struggling.

While wearing the device, you can still open and close your mouth as well as talk and yawn.
