A very effective method for straightening teeth and correcting a misaligned bite are metal braces, sometimes in coordination with orthodontic appliances. Metal braces consist of small brackets bonded to the front surface of each tooth and connected to each other by a metal arch wire. The wire exerts force on the teeth to move them slowly to their new desired position. Orthodontic appliances can be used to expand the palate,  encourage  jaw growth and correct other issues.

Some patients dislike the appearance of metal so we offer a choice of ceramic (clear) braces. Ceramic braces blend in with your teeth so that the brackets are not as noticeable. We  often put clear brackets on the front teeth and metal brackets on the back teeth as the metal brackets are stronger than the ceramic ones. We also offer a wire that is tooth-coloured helping to minimize the appearance of braces and increase your confidence during orthodontic treatment.
